Which is a shame because it's a couple inches too low. This unit comes at a fixed height and cannot be adjusted. It can move in or out, or back and forth, but cannot be moved up.
It's really to hard to say if this is not for everyone, just the majority of our friends would be fine having the shifter mounted to our end table instead. But use your own judgment. Great in concept, but I think that it needs to be redesigned a bit. It sits very low, and for most who have used it at our house, said that needs to be able to move forward or backward, not just "side-to-side." Having this on the chair also makes it much harder to get in and out of it, and it's not easily removable to rectify this situation.All I can say is that it would be better for you to buy and see if it works for you, if it doesn't return it.
Also, its steel build is very sturdy. Your racing set-up will be incomplete w/o this product. Very easy to install w/ easy-to-understand instructions.
It's just a hair too low for my liking and I have a seat adjuster on the way that will raise the playseats chair another inch or two, making it even lower. my only disappointment is that there is no Z adjustment (up & down). While an adapter should be fairly easy to make.I feel it should have come with something already for the price. This is a sturdy little adapter that attaches to the playseats chair. It's only necessary if you have a detached shifter (like the G25) though I suppose you could modify it for a beverage holder etc.It has pretty good X and Y adjustments.
I wish it was adjustable as to height. Item has very good quality. Installs easily.
